Who should get a COVID vaccine?

It is currently recommended that individuals aged 6 months up should get vaccinated with a bivalent COVID vaccine. Special considerations should be made concerning certain populations. Individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to become pregnant can receive a COVID vaccine. While this is the current recommendation, little information is available concerning the safety of breastfeeding following vaccination. It is not recommended that individuals with an autoimmune disorder or HIV get vaccinated at this time. Follow up with your primary care provider, if this applies to you.

People who have previously had Guillain-Barre syndrome (GBS) and Bell’s Palsy may receive an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
