If I have or suspect I have COVID-19, should my baby be tested?

Testing is recommended for all infants born to women with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 even if there are no signs of infection. Infants less than 12 months of age are at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19 compared to older children. Infants with higher risk of severe illness (such as premature infants or infants with medical conditions) may need to be separated from their mothers for a period of time. Symptoms of COVID-19 in infants include fever, extreme tiredness or difficulty waking, runny nose, cough, very fast breathing, having difficulty breathing, vomiting, diarrhea, and not feeding or feeding less. PWNHealth does not offer testing for infants at this time.
